Who am I?? The carrot, the Egg or the coffee bean???

Saw something interesting in my mail and i wanted to share with the others :-

CARROTS, EGGS AND COFFEE BEANS

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans.

She let them sit and boil without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?"
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft and mushy. She then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hardened egg. Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee.

The daughter smiled as she tasted its deep flavour and inhaled its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What's the point, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water - but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin, outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong? But with pain and adversity, do I wilt and lose my strength? Am I the egg that starts with a fluid spirit but, after death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water - the very circumstance that brings the adversity, the pain, the hardship into something quite wonderful. When the water gets hot, it releases it's fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better, and change the situation around you for the better.

When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate to another level? How do you handle adversity?

ARE YOU A CARROT, AN EGG, OR A COFFEE BEAN?

(Somehow, wake up and smell the coffee takes on a whole new meaning)

Good story?? yeah i think so...

I have been thinking loads since my lessons started, now that i have finished a part of my pharmacology class and now into biochemistry and chemistry. thinking how the heck i would manage to survive for the next 4 yrs if i keep on slack and slack...

Life aint easy here...study in this school is also not easy... One will always think that studying in a pharm school is much more easier than a med sch... but in reality it isnt.. or to be precise there isnt anything easy in this world. You will have to work hard to get what you want....

Lessons are quite ok thou my chem lecturer is super boring.... he looks old...looking at him makes u feel like sleeping and there is a rumour that he has a 25 yr old girlfriend and he drives posh cars!!! gossip sessions on again Lol

The atmostphere?? pharmacists are so boring!!!! I am surrounded by so many nerds in the school!! (apart from some of them who are really really cool) And the people here are damn smart.... and very hardworking. U wont see anyone slacking away in class (ok apart from me =P) this school is super small, it is suppose to b a university but it is just so small!!! Kinda regret why i choose this place at the 1st place....

I am currently trying to make myself enjoy all my lessons and the people around me in the school. God they are just so not sociable, and super racist!! Yes trust me they really are!!! Those 'Aminah' will stick to their own 'Aminah's (as in the Arab ones who have their face covered--- ok at least they still show their face in UK not like in M'sia where u can only see a pair of eyes ) The locals will stick to the locals, the hongkies will stick to the hongkies, the black with the black, the white with the white....calling London a multicultural society??? yes they are but the people here aren't sociable!!

Anyway i think i complain too much...

Sometimes it makes me wonder why on earth do i choose to come here and study at the 1st place. There isnt much life for a Uni student here...especially if u are staying in a city where everything is expensive (even without converting) Clubs are damn ex and not my type, movies are super ex in London compare to other parts of UK, wanna go shop but things here are not cheap...no sales on currently, travelling here is also super ex...nothing is cheap, even staying in the halls is not that cheap.... window shopping has become my hobby now that there arent much free entertainment around here.... and nowadays i had stopped taking the bus and travel coz i am now walking ard the places fro one to another...30 min walk is nothing to me now... (yay!! but even with walking i still pile up all the spare tyres...T_T )

And i am so lazy to go to the activities of the clubs....lol so that is part of the reason i get bored...
Suddenly just hope that christmas is over and the sales are on so that i can shop more

I just love shops =)
Coz they are my only entertainment...which i would have to pay a very high price if i dont stop

Sometimes you will think that London is a super-duper cool place....but in reality it isnt. Although London is one of the biggest city with such a huge population with loads of shops and tourist attractions and is accessible to almost anything; from the high street shops to those small little coffee house which makes u feel so much like home, from the worlds busiest airport to the very traditional Double decker bus which now some ppl rent it to have parties on (yes i really saw one last saturday, ard 20-30 ppl in a bus partying as the bus moves along Picadilly circus and leicester sq)...Honestly London looks fun but if you are at a place for a few years u will get bored at all the entertainment that it provides. Maybe it is just me who still havent start to explore the real london...from the busiest streets and the smallest paths...give me time and find me the right person to go with then i am sure that i will start exploring this place... i want to start love this place...but i seriously do need time...

I need to survive here...long enough to keep me sane when u guys next see me...
I have to learn to love those future pharmacist, like what my friend once told me ' You change to fit the society, the society won't change to fit you'

I suddenly miss all my friends back home and who are here with me in college...
I miss those company and those joy and laughther that we used to share...
But i know you guys have to move on, you have your own life to live....
And so i shall learn to move on too...

People out there...
come see me if u have time ....i miss u so much T_T

anyway...this post is super boring...i know i know but its my blog so i have the right to write anything i want XD

P.S: current new entertainment..watching Prison Break...honestly Wenworth Miller is drop dead gorgeous ^^ and i gonna continue with Grey's Anatomy and House and the korean drama
《宫》~~
